    Senator Steve Crowell was elected to the Senate in November 2022 and was sworn in on January 9, 2023.  He represents District 3, which includes Clark, Columbia, Lafayette and Nevada Counties and parts of Hot Spring, Hempstead and Pike Counties.

    Senator Crowell is the Senate vice-chair of the Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee.  He is also a member of the Senate Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, the Senate Efficiency Committee, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee and the Joint Interim Committee on Legislative Facilities Committee.

    During the 94th General Assembly, Senator Crowell sponsored Act 460 of 2023 amend the law concerning damaged ballots and Act 305 eliminate write-in candidates on ballots.  He was the lead Senate sponsor of legislation to create the “Arkansas Rocks! Mining and Mineral Trail” in southwest Arkansas.  Senator Crowell also sponsored legislation to amend the membership on the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission and to move the commission to the State Parks division.

    Senator Crowell served as a member of the Magnolia City Council and served on the Police Commission and Finance Committee.  He is also a member of the Magnolia Arts Board.  Senator Crowell has served as the chair of the Magnolia Blossom Festival.

    Senator Crowell and his wife, Laura, have four children and one grandchild.  They are members of First Baptist Church in Magnolia.

    He is the owner and manager of SL Crowell Properties.  He is also an Arkansas High School Football referee.
